This month, this week, this hyperconscious day,<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Weather that tempts with sunbeams,<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Cajoles<\/p>\n\n\n\n

With dazzling rainbow mists,<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Then<\/p>\n\n\n\n

With downpour and with rushing flood<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Insists<\/p>\n\n\n\n

That every seed, corm, bulb, rhizome and root in the dark moist soil<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Thrust forth<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Swift forests of javelin green<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Only to wilt and, terrify that eager chlorophyll blood<\/p>\n\n\n\n

With blades of gale, with ice like fire:<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Come! Kneel,<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Bow your buds<\/p>\n\n\n\n

To Nature\u2019s ineluctable behest!<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The lingering leaves of Autumn<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In slippery insurrection<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Drape a dwindling, fading tent<\/p>\n\n\n\n

With their last skeletal tissue,<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Now entitled by decay<\/p>\n\n\n\n

To find Nirvana<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In their final Earthly rest.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
